Urfa, Turkey – The Islamic State group (IS/ISIS) has demanded that some of the displaced Syrian people from war-torn areas who fled to the city Tel Abyad in Raqqa province relocate to evacuated Kurdish villages in the western countryside of the city, local sources reported on Sunday.
The city ofTel Abyad has been under IS control for over a year.
Speaking to ARA News in Tel Abyad, K.M. said that the IS group tries to use refugees as human shields to protect the ammunition depots in the western suburbs of Tel Abyad, in an attempt to obstruct the international coalition’s strikes on those warehouses.
Umid Khoshman, a media worker who accompanies the People’s Protection Units (YPG), stated to ARA News that the purpose of transferring the displaced civilians to the western areas is to use them as human shields in case of the YPG’s advances in these villages, in order to arouse public sentiment if the YPG fighters are held responsible for the shelling of civilian gatherings.
In another development, K.M. pointed out that a car (van) belonging to the radical group arrived in the city of Tel Abyad this afternoon, loaded with four dead bodies of IS insurgents, who were killed during the fighting in the city of Kobane in northern Syria.
The source pointed out that the four dead IS militants come from the village of Bajiliya (30 km south of Tel Abyad) and the city of Jarablos.
Also on Saturday, nine IS bodies arrived to the village of Shuyookh, including a Prince called Abdullah Jerabulsi aka “Saqr”, according to the same source.
