Urfa, Turkey – The Syrian National Coalition for Revolutionary forces and the Opposition (SNC) addressed the international community earlier this week in a statement, asking for “serious support” to eradicate the “terrorism of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)” and to protect civilians from the trespasses of ISIL and the regime.

The press release issued by the SNC condemned the “brutal practices” executed by ISIL militants.

The Coalition asserted its commitment to defend the Syrian people against ISIL practices asking Syrians to “be united to face the violations of ISIL as well as the regime and its supporting gangsters and militias”.

The Coalition stated that ISIL is ” the Syrian people’s enemy and against the revolution and the future of Syria. Hence we ask for the international community’s support to protect civilians from ISIL and the regime.”

The Coalition statement came after ISIL’s execution of two militants affiliated with the opposition in Aleppo environs, last week, with charges of spying for the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
