Damascus, Syria – At least 3 civilians were killed and several others wounded on Monday, after the pro-regime warplanes bombed the eastern Ghouta area in Damascus countryside, south of Syria.

Mazen Ibrahim, civil activist based in Damascus, told ARA News that the pro-Assad warplanes bombed the area with rockets, killing 3 civilians and wounding several others.

“The injured were transferred to the field hospital in the eastern Ghouta,” he said.

Meanwhile, the pro-Assad helicopters shelled the city of Darayya in western Ghouta, in Damascus countryside with explosive barrels, coinciding with artillery bombardment in the city from the military airport of ‘Mezzeh 86’, without recording injuries, local sources reported.

Talking to ARA News, Ahmad Sabbagh, civil rights activist based in Damascus, stated that a number of civilians were injured on Monday evening after the pro-regime military forces bombed Jisren town east of Damascus (from their headquarters in the regiment of rockets on the road to Damascus International Airport).

This comes as clashes continued for the third day between the pro-regime forces and rebels of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the vicinity of Maliha town, amid artillery shelling from the regime-held Air Defence Administration.
